[This painting is "The Death of Socrates" and it portrays when Socrates drank the poisonous hemlock, as he was ordered to, as per his death penalty after the Trial of Socrates, where he was convicted of "corrupting the youth" by making them question authority figures. God forbid people start questioning the wisdom of their leaders. Some of them might turn out to be entirely incompetent.]
1. I am grateful that I have a nice, warm home and a very nice room that I can make beautiful through art, through going to yard sales and finding affordable but super nice furniture, and I definitely want a headboard for my bed that has shelves. I had one of those in North Jersey and I regret now not bringing it with me. If I ever need something in bed, I don't have to reach over to a table to grab it; I can put my laptop, cell phone, books, and everything else off my bed and right onto my bed's headboard shelves when I'm ready to go to sleep. It was so convenient and easy and made keeping the place organized easier. I suppose that is what Jordan Peterson meant by "design your room for the type of life you want." He also strongly recommends young men to "make your room beautiful" so that it inspires you to live a beautiful life.
2. I am grateful that I have the opportunity to cover my walls with art that I love.
This work of art (without the labels to let you know who each individual is) used to hang up my bed. I beleive I did bring it with me, but I'm unsure of where I put it. It'll turn up. If not, I'll buy a new one. I would love to have my 5 favorite historic paintings on my wall and be able to talk about any of them for at least 10 minutes. If anyone cares to ask, that is. I do plan on being friends with all the nerds and artistic types in Tuscaloosa that I possibly can. So they'll be interested in art.
3. I am grateful that there are tabeltop gaming places here in Tuscaloosa, where I can make new friends.
4. I am grateful I have such great ideas for viral videos that will make me almost famous around here. Like promoting tabletop gaming by dressing up as a wizard and holding up a sign and maybe talk some students from the University of Alabama into trying out some D&D. Perhaps I could partner with one of the business owners of one of the two tabletop gaming places here in Tuscaloosa.
5. I am grateful to realize I am procrastinating with my gratitude journal. The time for active challenges passed at 9AM. From 9AM to 5PM M-F, it is passive challenges only because "I'm at work," during that time.
